Following Edin Dzeko’s first half strike, which saw Manchester City take a well deserved lead. Wigan Athletic came back in the second half to put up a spirited defence.

Whilst Manchester City dominated possession in both halves and Wigan never really threatened, when Wigan had the ball. In the last ten minutes however, Wigan started to grow in confidence and belief that they could salvage a point as Manchester City kept throwing away opportunity after opportunity.

Aguero goes through, dribbled the ball past 5 players, then just as he was about to pull the trigger, Dzeko takes the ball from his feet and shoots wide. This was just one example of how it nearly went wrong.

In the last ten minutes, Wigan saw an opportunity to salvage much needed point, but City were just to much for them.

Result; 3 points to City, City go 3 points clear of Manchester United at the top of the league.

Bring in super Sunday.

Dear Sirs,

As a non football fan, who has recently started to watch more football I would like to ask the FA to explain a few things.

Namely why do referees clearly favour certain teams, then more importantly why do the FA support the one sided decisions made by its referees…..

My reasoning comes as follows;

Kompany was sent off against united for a two footed dangerous challenge that clearly wasn’t dangerous, at most a yellow.

Glen Johnson, wad not sent off for a worse foul, than the one made by kompany. (a decision I agree with)

Then finally watching the chelsea v sunderland game and the referee didn’t give a number of clear penalties.

So my question is; How does the FA warrant such poor decisions and what training does a referee have to have
